At LingoMe, we care about your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use LingoMe websites, mobile applications, and related services (“Service”). The Service currently includes a mobile application for vocabulary learning and a website for IELTS preparation, and may become a more unified English-learning product over time.

Please note that LingoMe is constantly testing and improving our product features. Any features discussed in this Privacy Policy may not be available to all users or in all jurisdictions.

We collect only the data necessary to provide and improve LingoMe. The exact scope may evolve as new features are introduced, but it always falls within the categories described below.
a. Information you provide
- Name or nickname (may be any name the user enters)
- Email address
- Information provided during onboarding (language level, goals, topics of interest, etc.)
b. Usage and learning data
- Token usage (amount of learning content processed per user)
- Words studied, vocabulary progress by day, and activity streaks
- IELTS writing tasks, essays, AI feedback, estimated band scores, and corrections
- General interaction metrics with lessons, writing tools, and other features
c. Technical information
- Device type, operating system, app version
- IP address, time zone, and language preferences
- Crash and performance data
- Cookie and analytics data from the website, including Google Analytics data
d. Information from third-party providers
- LingoMe may process and share certain personal information with trusted third-party service providers for the purpose of operating, improving, and securing the Service. To support these functions, we work with a variety of third-party vendors, such as OpenAI, Together AI, Novita AI, RevenueCat, Paddle, SendGrid, Google Analytics, and Cloudflare. These partners assist with payment processing and subscription validation, generation of educational content and learning feedback, speech-to-text transcription of user voice input, transactional and support communications, analytics, secure content delivery, and protection. Hosting and data storage are located in Germany.
2. How We Use Information
We use your data to:
- Operate and improve the Service’s functionality
- Personalize vocabulary lessons, IELTS preparation, and progress tracking
- Generate AI-powered educational content, writing feedback, and corrections
- Manage subscriptions and purchases
- Communicate important updates or account information
- Measure website performance and understand how users interact with the Service
- Ensure security, detect abuse, and comply with legal obligations
We may also use aggregated or anonymized statistics to analyze usage patterns and improve our educational content. Such data cannot identify individual users.

We do not sell or rent personal information.
We may share limited data with trusted service providers listed above, solely to operate our Services under confidentiality and data-processing agreements.

User data is primarily stored on servers located in Germany (Digital Ocean).
Third-party processors may transfer or process information in other jurisdictions under appropriate safeguards.

We retain user data only as long as necessary to provide our Services and for legitimate business purposes (e.g., legal or accounting obligations).
You can delete your account at any time through available account settings. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our active systems. However, backups may retain copies of your data for up to 7 days solely for disaster-recovery purposes, after which the data is permanently removed from backup storage.

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., EU GDPR, UK DPA, CCPA), you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your data

Material changes will be announced within the app or via email.
(Minor updates that clarify or expand existing categories of data—such as new learning metrics—will not automatically require renewed consent, provided the overall purpose remains the same.)
